Admissions

• Pupil Admission Number (PAN) = 60 pupils per year group

The Seathorne Primary Academy provides for the needs of children within the 3 to 11 age range who live in Skegness, Winthorpe and the surrounding areas. Pupils will be admitted at the age of 3+ without reference to ability or aptitude using the criteria set out in our policy.

For Reception year, in the year preceding admission, parents should apply using the Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) Admissions process. All applications for the Reception year, starting in the September, need to be completed and submitted to LCC by 5.00pm on 15 January.

In-Year Admissions

Lincolnshire County Council will co-ordinate in-year admissions and applications should be made online
through their local authority Admissions website

Appeals

If a parent/carer's application for a place at the Academy is unsuccessful, they have the right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel.

Appeals should be made by completing the Academy Admissions Appeal form found at the bottom of this page and returned to the Academy within twenty (20) school days of the date of refusal.

Please be aware that the regulations under Section I of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 limit the size of an infant class (a class in which the majority of children will reach the age of 5, 6 or 7 during the school year) to 30 pupils per class teacher. Admissions over this limit are only permitted in very limited circumstances.
