Admissions

• Pupil Admission Number (PAN) = 60 pupils per year group

The Seathorne Primary Academy provides for the needs of children within the 3 to 11 age range who live in Skegness, Winthorpe and the surrounding areas. Pupils will be admitted at the age of 3+ without reference to ability or aptitude using the criteria set out in our policy.

Mid-Year Admissions - Moving School or New to the Area

We are able to admit pupils into all years groups from Nursery to Year 6, at any point of the year providing we have the space or capacity to do so.

Admission into Nursery

Please see the Admissions to Nursery page. This is essential information for use throughout the whole school year.

Admission into Reception DURING the school year

For children requiring admission DURING the school year into Reception, the mid-year admissions processes should be followed as detailed above.

For children who will be completely new to Reception, starting in the September of the appropriate year for their date of birth, please visit the Admissions to Reception page - that process is slightly different.

Appeals

There is a right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel for unsuccessful applicants relating to admissions at age 5 (statutory school age) or above. Appeals should be made by completing the 'Seathorne Primary Academy Admissions Appeal form' found at the bottom of this page and returned to Seathorne Primary Academy, within twenty (20) school days of the date of refusal.

Please be aware that the regulations under Section I of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 limit the size of an infant class (a class in which the majority of children will reach the age of 5, 6 or 7 during the school year) to 30 pupils per class teacher. Admissions over this limit are only permitted in very limited circumstances.
